Here He explains how salvation is attained by the pursuance of these paths. Thus this chapter is entitled: Action and Renunciation. Arjuna now asks - Which is greater, Karma yoga or Karma Sanyasa? Krishna says: Sanyasa's ultimate goal is "tatva darshana", you can only be prepared for it, after Karma Yoga. So without Karma Yoga- you cannot get the Sanyasa. BG: Arjuna asks: How will a sanyasi live? Krishna says: One who is free of raaga, dwesha (desire or hatred) is nitya sanyasi.
